Ford's New Ad Slogan

Ford has a new tagline: "Ford. Drive One." Was "Ford. Just Buy One Already" taken?

Earlier this year, Ford changed its tagline from "Ford. Bold Moves" to "Ford. Drive One." While a tagline won't make or break sales, they are remarkably handy for understanding what companies really think about their brands.

In Ford's case, even though cars like the Fusion and the Edge are getting good reviews by professional organizations, people don't even consider them when they think about buying a new small or midsize car. That's a tough problem to overcome, hence the very direct slogan.

Here's a look at the Ford taglines over the years (the ones we could remember) and a tv ad from 1984, with a cameo from Bjorn Borg. Feeling old?

Ford Slogans Throughout the Years

  • Ford. Drive one (2008)

  • Ford. Built for the road ahead (2004)
